Hi, I had promised to write about Reasoning by First Principles or First Principles for short. So here I am to pay up. First Principles is a decision making mental model that focuses on fundamentals. That is when you strip all the fluff, it is what is left without which the core tenets of the issue or argument fall flat.
Asking ourselves really why we do what we do will gear one towards an inner peace, satisfaction, will to go on and relieve one of the tension and pressures of living life on the whims of others and society. Good one doc.
I like this. For someone that has hit what I call a plateau phase in my career where I'm just coasting through and finding stuff monotonous, I have to go back to the First principles on why I do what I do to find the drive to do greater stuff.
